Prior to joining Align Law, Jonathan worked at a leading national law firm for a decade, working in its commercial litigation and professional indemnity practice groups. He has a broad practice, with particular interest in commercial, property, leasing, insurance, construction and insolvency matters. Jonathan is experienced in litigation in all Victorian Courts, the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Federal Court of Australia. He has also advised clients in respect of disputes in New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland and in respect of international cross-border disputes, including in the United States. Jonathan provides strategic guidance to clients to help them efficiently resolve disputes and continue to focus on business growth. He also provides risk management advice so clients can bolster their internal processes to minimise the risk of potential future litigation.

Prior to co-founding Align Law, Glenn practiced in a national top tier law firm and has over 15 years experience. He has significant experience acting for some of Australia’s most pre-eminent clients in the private and public sectors on a variety of projects including multi-stage residential and CBD apartment tower developments, major shopping centre redevelopments, commercial office and retail developments, mining and renewable energy projects, hotel developments as well as government infrastructure projects.

Barnaby advises public and private clients on all areas of planning and environment law. He is a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in planning and environment law with more than 20 years’ experience as a solicitor advocate. Barnaby has significate experience appearing before VCAT, the Supreme Court and Planning Panels Victoria. Recent matters include appearing on behalf of clients in relation to: mixed use tower proposals in Southbank and Fishermans Bend; subdivision proposals; applications to vary restrictive covenants; child care proposals; a proposed service station and convenience restaurant development; compensation claims with acquiring authorities; obligations under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999; compliance with new duties under the Environment Protection Act 2017; drafting and reviewing section 173 agreements and works in kind agreements

As a Senior Paralegal with over 14 years' experience in the property and legal industry, Abigail leads a team to deliver document reviews, settlements, stamping and lodging for private and government sector clients. Her extensive experience in handling small to large scale property development projects in the residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural land space is valuable to property developer clients. She has acted for various big-4 banks in delivering high-volume registrations and discharges of mortgages. Abigail’s deep expertise in PEXA and SPEAR has enabled her to streamline processes for electronic settlements and lodgements to enable high-value, large volume settlements.

Shih Wang joined Align Law in 2019, after completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Finance) and Juris Doctor at the University of Melbourne. Having prior experience in property investment and development, Shih Wang is uniquely placed to understand the practical and commercial aspects of his clients’ legal needs. Shih Wang has vast experience practising in various areas of law including property, commercial, employment, and administrative law. He has advised both private and publicly listed Australian and international companies and has helped to deliver a multitude of successful ‘off the plan’ high rise and multi lot residential projects as well as commercial developments.

Louie completed law school in both China and Australia. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree at the Northwest University of Political Science and Law in Xi’an, China and a Juris Doctor and a Master’s degree in Business at Monash University. Since joining Align Law, Louie has worked extensively on all aspects of property transactions and is passionate about migration law. Her cross jurisdictional experience and language skills provides her with an in-depth understanding of the nuances of doing business across both China and Australia, allowing her to assist clients in bridging any cultural gaps where and when required. Joyce is one of the heads of Align Law’s Hong Kong office. Joyce is highly regarded for delivering comprehensive and tailored legal solutions to all her clients. She has acted for Australia’s ‘big four’ banks in relation to various types of property transactions including large volume lease and license agreements with shopping centres and multiple high-rise development acquisitions.

Arthur co-leads Align Law’s Hong Kong office and practices in Australian property, commercial and migration law. He advises clients on skilled migration, partner migration and family migration matters and has extensive experience in various property transactions involving the acquisition and disposal of residential and commercial real estate, leases and licenses, banking transactions, easements and restrictions, public roads and strata subdivision of land.

With a strong passion for assisting people from all cultures to navigate the legal landscape, Chloe brings a wealth of compassion and drive to the table. As evident from her lifelong involvement in local Balinese social justice initiatives and internationally recognised NGOs, advocacy is a way of life for Chloe. Chloe speaks fluent Indonesian and can communicate effectively to bridge cultural gaps. Michelle has been in the migration industry for over 12 years and currently. Michelle is an expert in providing advice tailored to the specific needs of her clients. She has extensive knowledge of Australian visa structures and is well versed in navigating the complexities involved in policy advice, visa options, and immigration solutions. Her primary areas of practice include Employer Nominated and Sponsored Visas, Skilled Select Visas, and Business Visas. Michelle has worked across individual and large visa projects for a diverse range of industries, and company scales.

Shin has acted for a number of private and public companies across various industries and has a wide range of experience in corporate and commercial matters including equity capital markets transactions (Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), rights issues and other secondary raising), mergers and acquisitions, general corporate and commercial matters, commercial drafting, corporate governance and compliance matters, and due diligence investigations. She regularly provides advice to boards and senior management on corporate governance matters and compliance requirements, as well as assists with company secretarial functions and advises them on matters relating to the ASX Listing Rules and the Corporations Act. Shin also has experience in financial services and provides advice relating to Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL) and fund-related work. Shin is commercially astute with excellent communication skills. Her proficiency in multiple languages proves invaluable in fostering strong connections with clients across Asian markets.
